ROCK THE SHELVES IN AUGUST @ MEIJER!

Meijer Branch will be rockin' again on FRIDAY, AUGUST 22! This will be the last summer concert of the season and will feature 3 awesome local bands! ARCADIA ZERO from JACKSON, THE STANDARD from BROOKLYN and THE NEWFANGLED SEQUENCE from SPRING ARBOR. Be sure to come & chow down on some pizza & drinks. Admission is FREE & so are the snacks!

JDL will also be giving away the Nintendo Wii that's up for grabs for all teens that participated in the summer reading club & read at least 2400 pages to enter the drawing.

I just found a website that has many Free software "cheat sheets" or Quick Reference Guides available for anyone to use.

Jane Austen Book Club

The Jane Austen Book Club for July welcomed three new fervent Jane Austen fans and celebrated a birthday!  Sara, one of our graduating seniors, was the birthday girl and Joann made a very tasty and tender cake with an inscription for "All Jane Austen heroes wish Sara a Happy Birthday."

Book review: The story of Edgar Sawtelle

Heralded on Amazon as the best of June, creeping up the NYTimes bestseller list to number 6, this story of a boy and his dog by David Wroblewski was not what I expected.  After reading the author's comments about wanting something with "the uncynical Midwestern sense of heart," I am even more at sea.
