I will be posting questions every couple of days. The first discussion questions i:
What is your general impression of this book? Did you like it, or not? Why?
Topic # 4
A list of discussions questions says: "The language of A Wizard of Earthsea is often quietly poetic." Do you agree? can you come up with some examples?
Question # 3
On the first page of the novel, we learn that Ged will eventually become Archmage and dragonlord. Doesn't this undercut a certain amount of suspense? Why would Le Guin tell us this?
Question 2
Why is this world called Earthsea, why do you think LeGuin decided to set her story in such a world?
Sorry
The Big Read Kick-off was held on Saturday. I believe it was in the cafeteria. I hope you can make it to some of the other events you will find them all listed by clicking on the Big Read logo at the right.
Hi, I've just purchased this
Hi, I've just purchased this book and so far am enjoying it very much. I'm looking forward to reading what everyone else thinks about it. Just one question for anyone who might know...was the big read kickoff cancelled or something at Jackson high this past Saturday? A friend and I decided to go check it out and maybe sign up for library cards, but when we arrived there were no signs or markers anywhere around the school to let us know where and if it was still going on. We kind of just figured it was cancelled or something and left.
Like or dislike
My first feeling after having read this book was, "that was pretty good." There were a few exciting and attention grabbing parts that helped me continue through the story. I really enjoyed that most of the story is on the sea, that was the best part for me.
