Last Friday's computer LAN game party was loads of fun for all in attendance. Everyone enjoyed a number of highly competitive games of "Halo: Combat Evolved" and "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory". Those attending varied in age from not-quite-teens to mid-twenties and competitors remained very evenly matched throughout the day. We also were granted with some tasty treats courtesy of Carnegie's Children's department and some guests.
One of the great things about this year's Big Read selection, A wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Le Guin, is that there are three more books, equally enthralling, in the Earthsea series, plus Le Guin has written dozens of other wonderful books. If you have read this book with your children, there are numerous other authors in the children's section that both children and adults will enjoy.
